Good golly Miss Molly! The students of Manuka have been so very busy! We've been writing recipes, but not any old recipe... Recipes to make your teacher frown, or recipes to make your teacher smile. We had such fun coming up with ideas! Then, just like real authors, we published our writing. We had to consider what font and colour to use, as well as illustrate our book with either photographs or drawings. Can you guess which ingredients are used to make Mrs Webb frown and which make her smile?

Lights, camera, action! NZ Playhouse visited and performed 'Little Red Robin Hood'. We laughed. We booed. We pointed. We had such a great time! It wasn't the original Little Red Riding Hood story - there was a little Robin Hood mixed in as well. There were songs and dancing, arrows and horses, and lots of laughing.
Then hands washed, instructions heard, and the cooking begins! This week it was 'Pumpkin Mania'. We were treated to a delicious pumpkin soup with flat breads, impossible pumpkin pies, and finished with chocolate and zucchini cake. Yummo! While we waited for it to cook, and the smell made our tummies rumble, we worked on our recipe books. We all tried a little bit of everything. The pumpkin soup was so delicious that we were scraping the bottle of the pot. With lots of smiles, and full tummies we headed out to play. We are so grateful to Cherry, Rachel and their team of merry helpers who support us in this. It's always super fun, great learning and something we look forward to!
