What a fabulous time we had today waxing our lunch wrap. We had been busy little beavers leading up to today decorating our cotton fabric ready to transform it into something handy in our lunch boxes! We decorated a piece of calico (thank you Mrs P for cutting them all out!) with some non-toxic pens with whatever design tickled our fancy! With our paint shirts on and the 'Health and Safety' briefing over, the fun began! We were so very lucky to have Lesley Ottey from Eco Educate to help us with the waxing progress. Using beeswax melted in electric frying pans we painted our fabric with pastry brushes. We popped them briefly in the oven to make sure the wax was evenly spread and then we pretended we were clothes lines, holding the wraps up to dry. We are SO GRATEFUL to both Lesley and our fabulous parent help who made this possible! These will be so handy in our lunch boxes and replace other single use plastic! Perfect!
