About the North Loburn Home and School group
The Home & School Association makes a very positive contribution to our school in many ways. It is a team of parents and staff who are involved in the planning and organising of school fundraising and activities for the students.

It facilitates partnerships and draws parents into playing an active role in the well-being and development of the school. It provides a forum for parents and community members to meet each other and work together with a common goal. It provides our students with special extras, such as hot lunches in the winter terms, which make our school a great place to be.

The Home & School Association also raises funds through various events that are held through out the year. The funds raised allow the school to supplement our operations grant to provide resources and experiences we would be otherwise unable to access.

North Loburn School is grateful for the support that it receives from the Home and School group. Many of the wonderful resources that can be found around the school have come from money raised by this group.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to all caregivers to come and join the committee. Meetings are always held in the staffroom. The dates are published in the newsletter

North Loburn Home and School Association Guidelines

Introduction

The North Loburn Home & School Association is a group of interested parents and friends of the school from the community and a teacher representative from the school staff, who work together to benefit the children of North Loburn School (the School) and the wider community of North Loburn/Whiterock.
The purpose of this document is to explain the objectives of the Association and how the funds raised are distributed.

Objectives
The Association exists:

•To raise funds to benefit all children at the School; and

•To foster the relationship between the North Loburn/Whiterock community and the School.
These objectives will be achieved by:

•engaging in various fund-raising activities deemed appropriate by the Association; and

•providing events and activities for the benefit of the community where the emphasis is on fun rather than raising funds,
    eg, Quiz nights, Discos etc.

Fundraising
The Association aims to raise $10,000 per year for an identified visionaryproject. Anything over this amount will be used towards items on a teacher generated wishlist.

The Principal shall allocate the funds presented to the School in accordance with what the Home and School / staff has identified as major fundraising projects. These are to be determined at the beginning of each year.

Additional Information

The Association shall be run in accordance with recognised standard meeting procedures and as such shall have a Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer elected at the AGM.

The Chairperson’s role is to facilitate the Committee meetings and oversee fundraising projects.

The Secretary’s role is to send out an agenda to committee members in plenty of time before the meeting and ask for any additional items to be added. Take the minutes of the meeting, send out the minutes to the committee after the meeting and deal with any incoming and outgoing correspondence.

The Treasurer’s role is to pay accounts as they arise, present a report at each meeting and arrange to have the accounts audited before the AGM.

The Association’s bank account shall have three signatories.
