At the end of term 3 we were fortunate enough to be able to participate in the North Canterbury Kapa Haka festival. Once again this was an opportunity for us to showcase our skills. We were ably led by Maaka Tua , our Kapa Haka tutor.

School Musical: "The Power of Yet"

9/20/2017

This term our whole school has been working on a school production. This musical is based around the Curtain family who discover the power of the word Yet.  Three  children discover how powerful this word is by playing several board games.  Each class has been responsible for creating a scene based around one of these games. Kauri's scene was based on the board game, Trivial Pursuit.
We have all had lots of fun practising for this production and have learnt a variety of skills along the way.  Huge thank you to everyone who have supported our show. Check out some of out photos below.

Once our school speech finals were completed those of us who had gained a first or second place in our year level, became eligible to compete in the Quad Schools' final.  The four schools are North Loburn, Loburn, Ashley and Sefton. This competition is an opportunity to showcase our skills to a wider community. North Loburn school did very well this year. In Kauri, two of our year six boys were placed first and third respectively.  Harry spoke about Jimmy Butler and Charley spoke about being active.

Charley was placed third and Harry was placed first.
