Kauri
Kauri is the Year 5/6 class at North Loburn School. We stand tall and proud, just like the Kauri tree. Mrs Hughes is Kauri's home room teacher but most of the time we combine with Kahikatea and Mrs Hassall in our extended learning space. In our home class we have 22 children but in our Year 4-6 class we have 43 children and two teachers.
In Kauri we do many exciting things. Keep checking in to see what we have been up to.
Some other special things we do in Kauri are:
Google Drive- We all have own Google accounts so we can do our work anytime/ any place
Kapa Haka- every Monday. This year we are attending the Kapa Haka festival again in Christchurch.
Sports- We do a variety of sports and enter many competitions both locally and further afield.
Sports Coaches- The coaches come every second week to play fun games and activities with us.
Extra opportunities- We can choose to be an enviro-leader, Jump Jam leader, librarian, lead assemblies etc.
Other lunchtime choices- learning to play chess, learning to play the ukulele
