Sabrina Ilett (Chairperson)
My name is Sabrina Ilett and I am the current Chairperson of The BOT. I have been on the board for over 6 years and have been chair for a year. I am married to Garrick and I have 2 children still at  North Loburn (Lucy and Mikey) and one other at Rangiora High (Emily). Since coming to NZ from London 10 years ago, I am still as passionate about our wee school as I was then. I am proud to represent the parents of North Loburn School. On a personal note, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I like reading, football and am currently learning to swim. You are never too old to learn something new!

My favourite thing is home and my proudest achievements are my 2 great girls, one of whom has finished at NLS and the other is just beginning.  I've worked as a kindergarten teacher and university lecturer, but these days I'm a writer and occasional teacher.  I'm passionate about the value of education, and I reckon being a lifelong learner is the only way to go.  Amberley is my home town but I'm happy to call White Rock home.

After seeing the incredible dynamic of this school first hand by having 3 children educated here I thought it was time   to put my own experience forward to see if I can assist with the ongoing development North Loburn School is renowned for.  Having my own business for over 20 years and an association with a variety of sporting clubs I thought I might be able to offer another perspective to assist with this development. I am fortunate to be part of a great team of board members, teaching staff and support people and feel like we are adding value to a well established school environment. After experiencing how quickly the education system is changing in the short time I have been involved, I am confident that all Board members are 100% dedicated to assisting the principal and teachers in creating a positive learning environment for all students.

My name is Anne Murphy and I am a mother of two children at North Loburn School, Liam Year 7 and Eva Year 6. Along with my husband, we run our tourism business from Rangiora. Our family make the most of the outdoors on offer and head for the hills at every opportunity. I was a teacher for a few years at the turn of the century and have a strong interest in education and holistic learning.

I was born in North Canterbury and spent the first seventeen years of my life living in Waikuku.  My teaching career has taken me all round the South Island. Dennis, my husband, is semi retired but also enjoys teaching part time at North Loburn School.  Dennis and I have seven children, all of whom have left home, and three grandchildren. I have taught at North Loburn for a number of years and thoroughly enjoy it.
My hobbies include keeping fit, by swimming, biking or running. Swimming is the most loved of the three. Being in the outdoors and spending time with the family and friends are my favourite way to pass the time.

Darryn Ward - Principal
I started my teaching career in Christchurch where I worked at Redwood School, Queenspark School and Westburn School. In 2013, I won promotion to a first time principal’s position in Patoka, Napier. This was small rural school and was a wonderful place to gain the experience needed as a principal.
In May of 2016 I was appointed a principal of North Loburn School. This meant a move back to the mainland and back to Canterbury. I am  extremely excited to be the principal of this school.

My wife, Stacey is a teacher and is currently employed in Rangiora. My son, Charley is attending North Loburn School. He is a keen sportsman so is very much enjoying the many opportunities that North Loburn is providing. Stacey and I met at Redwood School and have worked together in 3 schools.
In my spare time I enjoy playing golf (member of Rangiora golf club),reading, gardening and watching Charley play sport. I am also a keen supporter of Tottenham Hotspurs so I feel that I fit in quite well around here.
I would welcome the opportunity to chat to and meet members of the community. Please do not hesitate to pop in for a chat and a coffee.
