Determination and Perseverance were the key to almost all students being able to stand up on their boards and catch a wave by the end of the day. Waikuku Beach put on a stunner of a day for this termʻs REACH trip and the instructors from the Stoked Surf School showed lots of patience in ensuring everyone had some success. The sea conditions were challenging, sweeping everyone further South along the coast but the wave heights were perfect for beginners on the boards. Thanks to Mrs Hughes for the organisation of the day.

Skiing

Thursday 10 August dawned and it was off to the Porter Heights ski field. Many of us had never skied before so we were really excited and wondered how we would get on. After being issued our gear, we had a lesson and then spent the rest of the day perfecting our skills.  We  progressed quickly and thanks to brilliant weather, awesome parent helpers, plenty of encouragement from our peers and a determination to step outside our comfort zone, we had a very memorable day.  Thank you to everyone who made this possible.

In term 2 we went ice skating at the Alpine Ice Skating rink. Most of us were fairly new to this activity.  After a lesson and much practice we progressed quickly.
